The trials and tribulations of a teenager whose world was shattered by the sudden death of his moth. Orphaned and heartbroken he reluctantly honors his mother's wish and resides with his estranged father who is ill-equipped to nurture him as he struggles to cope, lending to a tumultuous relationship.

HYGIENE KITS

We are collecting donations for hygiene kits that the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) will distribute to children at transitional sites at the U.S. border. UMCOR has delivered more than 46,000 hygiene kits to six church-run transitional shelters along the border. UMCOR connects the people and congregations of the UMC in partnering with others for God's work in a variety of settings around the globe. Join our community to organize the effort and volunteer to pack 40 hygiene kits, each consisting of a hand towel, washcloth, toothbrush, soap, nail clippers, comb, and several bandages inside a large zippered plastic bag on ** Sunday, 29 September. PIZZA will be served! **

Click here for a detailed list of supplies. The church is accepting donations of hygiene kit items in Alka’s office. Thank you for your generosity!

Here’s a video on how to assemble an UMCOR Hygiene Kit. There was also some talk about having packing parties at home. If you are one of those, here is a link for assembly instructions and a packing label to Sager Brown.

BROADWAY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

COMMUNITY & CONNECTION SUNDAY

On the first Sunday of every month, Communion and Community Sunday, Broadway celebrates God’s expansive welcome with a communion service, welcoming all to God’s table. We also use this opportunity to do some special celebrations of the Broadway community—celebrating birthdays for the upcoming month and giving a special welcome to visiting friends and family. We will continue to celebrate visitors every Sunday, but we especially encourage the Broadway congregation to use Communion and Community Sundays as a chance to issue a special invitation to friends and family to join us in celebrating that we are all beloved children of God.
