Thank you, beloved family, for giving me the freedom to get away and catch some much needed retreat time. I look forward to the time and will share information on a few important events that are happening around the conference.

This week’s word is one that you may have heard before: shadenfreude. It’s not a happy word. It’s German, and has been adopted into English for quite a while now. 

This week, I'd like to tell you a little bit about what I'm going to be doing at Broadway United Methodist as an intern. My internship will be lasting two school years, so this year which has just started, and the year after. Both years, I'll be helping to lead worship (including preaching once a month), helping with pastoral care, teaching the twins in religious education class, and more. My second year features a leadership initiative.
