BISHOP'S DAY ON THE DISTRICT

LAITY CONVERSATION

The first day for our Bishop Dan Schwerin, as assigned Bishop of our Northern Illinois Conference, was January 1. He looks forward to being in ministry with us  in Northern Illinois. He is working diligently to learn who and where we are and believes a good way to do this is to meet with clergy and laity in our individual districts. The District Superintendents have planned the Bishop’s Days on the District which will provide time for introductions, reflection and conversation in each district. Bishop Schwerin will visit our Lake North District on Monday, February 13. Laity will gather for an evening conversation from 7-8:30pm at Glenview UMC (727 Harlem Ave, Glenview, IL).

GETTING TO BROADWAY CHURCH

We have a small parking lot off of Buckingham to the rear of the church that you are welcome to use when attending church functions. There is also metered parking and street parking nearby, but please note permit parking restrictions. The 36 bus stops near our front door, and we are about a 10-15 minute walk from either the Belmont or Addison el stations. You can get driving directions or public transportation options here. Our building is accessible at both entrances and we have a lift to our basement area. Other questions? Please feel free to contact us at 773-348-3679 or by email!

BROADWAY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

COMMUNITY & CONNECTION SUNDAY

On the first Sunday of every month, Communion and Community Sunday, Broadway celebrates God’s expansive welcome with a communion service, welcoming all to God’s table. We also use this opportunity to do some special celebrations of the Broadway community—celebrating birthdays for the upcoming month and giving a special welcome to visiting friends and family. We will continue to celebrate visitors every Sunday, but we especially encourage the Broadway congregation to use Communion and Community Sundays as a chance to issue a special invitation to friends and family to join us in celebrating that we are all beloved children of God.
