UPDATED BUILDING USE GUIDELINES -- May, 2022

Dear Community,

As the City of Chicago moves back into MEDIUM COVID RISK LEVEL, due to an increasing number of cases, city health officials are “strongly recommending” that people wear masks in public and indoor spaces; Broadway Ministry Advocates and the Pastor have updated our building use guidelines.

All building users:

  • If you feel under the weather for any reason, please refrain from coming to  the building and only return after you test negative for COVID.
  • We still REQUIRE MASKS as you enter/exit the building, and are in hallways, restrooms or any other public space in our building.
  • Continue to use the Broadway (east) door for ENTRANCE ONLY and the Buckingham (west) door for EXIT ONLY.

Building partners:

  • Once you are in your meeting room you may relax the mask requirement, depending on the comfort of your people/group members.

Worshipping partners:

  • Masks are required inside the Sanctuary at all times and singing is still limited to worship leaders.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Rev. Alka at by email or at 815-474-6721.

Thank you for understanding and for helping us help one another. ~ Broadway Ministry Advocates and Rev. Alka Lyall

We have a small parking lot off of Buckingham to the rear of the church that you are welcome to use when attending church functions. There is also metered parking and street parking nearby, but please note permit parking restrictions. The 36 bus stops near our front door, and we are about a 10-15 minute walk from either the Belmont or Addison el stations. You can get driving directions or public transportation options here. Our building is accessible at both entrances and we have a lift to our basement area. Other questions? Please feel free to contact us at 773-348-3679 or by email!

BROADWAY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

COMMUNITY & CONNECTION SUNDAY

On the first Sunday of every month, Communion and Community Sunday, Broadway celebrates God’s expansive welcome with a communion service, welcoming all to God’s table. We also use this opportunity to do some special celebrations of the Broadway community—celebrating birthdays for the upcoming month and giving a special welcome to visiting friends and family. We will continue to celebrate visitors every Sunday, but we especially encourage the Broadway congregation to use Communion and Community Sundays as a chance to issue a special invitation to friends and family to join us in celebrating that we are all beloved children of God.
