Easter is over, folks, now what? For some this is a struggle! But, here is what I think:
Yes, the celebration of Easter day is over, but Easter has just begun, because you see every day after resurrection is Easter (liturgically we are in Easter-tide or Easter season).
Easter promises us life -- not only life after death, the eternal life, but Easter also reminds us that we have the presence of God among us, even in this life. The presence of God is always among us! The promise of God’s presence with us on this earth, in all circumstances and the assurance of life after death -- gives me HOPE! And hope is the thing that my faith and my life hinges on! I hope yours does also. Because if we have hope, we have possibilities!
Beloved, look around you. You will definitely be able to see signs of life, signs of hope -- if you have plants, or just look out your window to the trees -- you can see new life birthing. If you look up in the sky you might see birds migrating -- bringing us signs of spring. If you listen to the news of all the ways in which people have been caring for one another, checking on neighbors, sharing, and volunteering, you will be reminded of the hope we can place on humanity! Friends -- let us hang on to hope -- that this pandemic will one day be over and we will experience resurrection together -- until then, be safe and let us continue to stay connected with each other via texts, calls and zoom.
