Dear Broadway Community,
Who knows what is the Mission Statement of the United Methodist Church?
That’s right! It is- “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” And just like any Mission/Vision statement- most of us don’t remember it- because it is just not frequently mentioned!
So, in August- our sermons series will be focused on the Mission and Vision statement of the denomination. On
The last 3 Sundays will be focused on the new Vision Statement that our Bishops have recently published! It reads- “The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections.”
Here is the schedule for the last 3 Sundays-
We hope you will be able to join us for all the 5 Sundays and celebrate with us that as United Methodists we are committed to not only aim towards personal holiness but also are committed to social holiness and social justice!
To fully represent that identity, we have also been looking at editing our logo to fully represent us and our belief that all people are created by God and are God’s beloved! I am grateful to all of you who worked on creating a logo for us. Those logos will be out this week for you to look and vote on! I hope that by the end of the month we will have a new image to represent us!
Friends, let’s not forget that church is not the building but the people that are a part of it, and so we need your support and help to continue to be a church in the neighborhood! What have you heard? What does our community need? How can we respond? What ideas do you have? Let me know!
May God bless you as you do so, and may you be a blessing to all you meet.
I look forward to seeing you at church.
