Alka's Angle August 8, 2025

Dear Broadway Community,

This week we continue to explore the Mission Statement of the United Methodist Church, “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” focusing on ‘for the transformation of the world.’

Together we will reflect on how we can be agents of transformation in a world that seems so divided, segregated and on edge. Are we being agents of transformation? Are we living out our faith in a way that others see a reflection of the God we represent and experience the welcome God extends? I know I fail in doing so every day. But, I am not ready to give up! I am committed to keep trying for as long as I can! How about you? What ideas do you have? Do you feel your idea is too big for one person? Share with us and perhaps together we can make it happen.

Let’s not forget that church is not the building but the people that are a part of it, and unless we are making a difference in the loves of our neighbors, we can’t claim our identity as a United Methodist Church who is committed to transform the world! So, let us help ourselves to be a church in the neighborhood that represents God’s welcome, God’s love and God’s message of care and support! What ideas do you have? Let me know!

May God bless you as you do so, and may you be a blessing to all you meet.

I look forward to seeing you at church.
