Dear Broadway Community,
Beloveds, I hope the year has started well for each and every one of you, and as most people do- you also started the year with some resolutions and intentions for 2024. I hope you are able to keep up with them for a long time.
As a church, we also invited you into a commitment with Broadway United Methodist Church, to always seek ways to share the love of God with all the people of God, to the best of our ability.
Living into that commitment, we have welcomed into our building the volunteers who tirelessly organize and provide for the migrant families in our neighborhood. The commitment is for about 6 months but we shall see how things turn out then.
Going forward- keeping in line with our commitment to welcome all God’s people and to provide a meaningful experience for them during worship and beyond- we hope to upgrade our A/V system soon. We are not fund-raising for it, but if anyone feels called to support that work we would welcome your generosity.
Realizing that our commitment to keep “the doors of faith wide open” for all people also means we care for the earth and all its resources and do all we can to reduce our carbon footprint, we will be exploring possibilities of solar energy for our building, recycling and composting. If you are interested or passionate about any of these things, please feel free to reach out to me by email . If you have any other ideas that will help us to live into our commitment for keeping our doors open for all God’s people, please do not hesitate to let me know by phone, email or text. I look forward to hearing from you on any of these topics or beyond.
People of God, let us continue to be a place committed to sharing the love of God with all people to the best of our ability, to be agents of hope, and pray for peace in Gaza. Be blessed and be a blessing, beloveds, and I look forward to seeing you all at church.
