Alka's Angle January 3, 2025

Dear Broadway Community,

Here we are- entering into a new year, and I don’t know about you but I enter the year with much trepidation and hope to find ways to stay resilient and strong in my commitment to do what I am called to do.

Beloveds, before I go into detail with that, I also want to take this moment to thank you for the many cards, notes, gifts and greetings that I received from many of you. Your support is always appreciated and helps me to do what would be impossible for me to do alone.

I don’t know about you, but I do feel we will need to up our support- not just for me but for each other, be more prepared and willing to support our larger community and even be willing to take some strong and challenging steps to live into the gospel and live out our faith that calls us towards justice and mercy and peace. I don’t know what this means but I do feel we will need to have some conversations as a church and make decisions together.

Your leadership team will make plans and will share them with you soon. So, let us enter the year as resilient people, with a renewed commitment to walk boldly towards justice, support communities through mutual aid, and do all we can to leave a better and peaceful world for our children and the future generations.

And again, I hope to see you in church soon,
