Last week’s cookout was a success! Thanks to Victor and Freddie, we had hotdogs and all who stayed enjoyed their time of fellowship with food. Next month (August 18th) will be an Ice Cream day, organized by Kathy! I am looking forward to that, and while Kathy will take care of ice cream, we still need some volunteers to bring the chairs out and then take them back inside the building, so please plan on helping out either before for setup or after for cleanup.
In just about a month, the kids will be back in school (CPS is scheduled to open August 26th) so we are focused on getting our backpacks ready to be donated to places we have committed to giving them again this year, including Nettlehorst school, right here in our neighborhood! We invite your generous financial donations (with the memo “school supplies”) as we plan on ordering all supplies this week.
And, if you have any free time on Thursday, feel free to join our green team at 10:00am to weed, clean and organize around the building.
Beloveds, I am always grateful to all of you for always showing up in the best way you can, so together we can continue to be the church that God has called us to be.
