Alka's Angle May 26, 2023

Dear Broadway Family,

If you have worshipped at Broadway even for the last few months only, then you have heard Tim playing the organ. The organ stopped working around Easter but Tim has continued to play the portable keyboard and has blessed us with his music. And, even though the keyboard has been a good temporary solution, we do need to get the organ fixed! We have learned that the repair would cost around $5000-  money that we do not have, so we are starting a fundraiser to pay for the repair. We invite you to contribute towards the repair by clicking here to use our donation page. We hope to get the organ repaired as soon as we possibly can.

Also remember-

  • We are getting ready to say goodbye to Pip this Sunday. They will preach this Sunday and we will celebrate their time with us with cake and fellowship after worship. Please make sure to join us for worship on that Sunday to celebrate them and their ministry with and through us.
  • May 28th is also Pentecost Sunday, so we invite you to wear red if you desire.
  • We are planning to have our worship services in the yard on the 3rd Sundays of the month with a potluck picnic following after worship. Jon Fallon will plan and lead us for the picnic part. Please make sure to join us for those Sundays to continue our witness in Lakeview and welcome anyone from the community who would like to check our church out.
  • June 17th is the 2nd Annual Adopt and Shop event in Lakeview! Broadway Street will have many four-legged visitors in the neighborhood ready to be adopted. Our church will participate in the event by having treats for them and share information about the church with the human friends of these pets. We are seeking donations of pet treats. Please bring them to church the following 2 weeks. Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting the ministries of Broadway United Methodist Church.

And, as always let us continue to do all we can to be the church that God has called us to be in this neighborhood!

Be blessed beloveds, and I look forward to seeing you in church.
