Dear Broadway Family,
As you may all know the City of Chicago started receiving busloads of migrants from Texas late August and the process still continues. Chicago has not only received them but is working hard to help them settle into their new home.
Northside elected officials have come together to collect donations of new items for these families. Donations can be dropped off at our Alderman’s office until October 1st. Baby products and hygiene products are an immediate list, and to see the full list of items being requested, please click here. The city is also looing for volunteers, so if you feel you will be able to donate some of your time, please click here, and click here for a full list of drop off locations.
Friends, I am reminded of Jesu’s words to the people, speaking of the last days, and when the question will arise, ‘when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or homeless or in need in anyway?’ the answer will be, ‘Whatever you did to one of the least, my siblings, you did it to me!’ Remembering that, let us pen our hearts once again and generously give for this cause. You can drop off your donations directly at the drop off location or bring them to church and we will take them for you.
And remember, when we sacrificially do what God alls us to do, and are of those lesser privileged than us, we are doubly blessed and the joy we feel in our hearts is beyond explanation. I trust your generosity and know that we will step up and donate. For that I appreciate you and I look forward to seeing you in church on Sunday.
