Pip's Perspective April 21, 2023

Hi Broadway Family,

My time at Broadway United Methodist Church ends on May 30. My last Sunday preaching will be on May 28, and Robert and I are cooking up a special sermon for you that will include me singing, just as I did during my sermon in January. I'm looking forward to that service, and I'd love to have many of you come in person, so I can hug you goodbye if you are up for a hug!

I bring this up now because I think that how we say goodbye is an important part of our work together, it is an important part of ministry!

My last time teaching Sunday School will be 5/21, and in the weeks leading up to 5/21, we will be re-visiting some of the twins' favorite activities from past lessons including a baking soda and vinegar volcano, "following the path" of (yarn) around the church to talk about following Jesus, collaging pictures of things that God made (animals, plants, mountains, people, etc), and more. I've really enjoyed my time with these delightful youngsters, and have really been touched by their theological reflections and questions.

My heart has been touched by all of you! I've very much enjoyed my time here with you, all of my learnings, all of your grace and wisdom, and your feedback about how I'm doing. I will treasure this time for a long time.

There is still time, if you'd like to talk 1:1 with me, for us to meet by phone, zoom, or in person. Please reach out!

Love you, and more importantly, God loves you. Every day and in every way!
