Pip's Perspective December 30, 2022

Hello Broadway,

Here we are, in the oft quiet week between Christmas and New Year.

We celebrated the birth of Christ. I really enjoyed these celebrations. From the beauty of humble beginnings to the splendor of the sacred reflected all around us, there was so much to take in and reflect on.

I don’t know about you, but I like to leave my tree up til Epiphany, I like to leave it up and lit for the full 12 days of Christmas. It took the wise men a bit of time to arrive and celebrate the birth of the new baby, and I think it’s worthwhile to take our time, too.

We are also in the midst of Kwanza! This celebration of African-American culture extends from December 26th until January 1st. Last year, in my first year of internship here at Broadway, I was delighted to learn that we celebrate Kwanza here in worship. This year, our celebration will be this coming Sunday, on January 1st. I look forward to celebrating this beautiful holiday with you all!

Please know that you are blessed. The love of God knows no bounds or limits, and she is with you, during the brightest of days and the darkest of nights.
