Pip's Perspective

If you listened to my sermon this last Sunday, you learned that when I was a teenager I wanted to be a missionary. What happened to my career goals after that dream fell through?

This Sunday will be my first time preaching for you, and I'll be talking about the question, "What would Jesus do?"

Yesterday, Rev Alka, Lee and I attended a press conference outside of city hall. The event was "Bring Chicago Home" and was about providing housing to our city's homeless.

This week, I'd like to tell you a little bit about what I'm going to be doing at Broadway United Methodist as an intern. My internship will be lasting two school years, so this year which has just started, and the year after. Both years, I'll be helping to lead worship (including preaching once a month), helping with pastoral care, teaching the twins in religious education class, and more. My second year features a leadership initiative.

I've come up with a theme for each week's "Pip's Perspective," and I'm very excited to share it with you all. Each week I will pick a community organizing topic to discuss. Feel free to send me your perspectives or questions if you'd like!
