Dear Broadway Family,
OK- so an honest question- are any of you getting worried? May be you are not- but I am! I don’t know what the supreme court will do next? Here are some of the headlines I have seen/heard in this week-
Like I said, I don't know what the Supreme Court will overturn next or what new laws will be created that will take away the privileges and rights of women, children, LGBTQIA+ folk or Immigrants. These are scary days and we all need to do all we can to defend each other, speak against these injustices and express our dissent. People from Los Angeles to Tallahassee took to the streets, many for the first time in protest. You may already have participated in actions and protests, and perhaps will participate in the coming days, so today I share with you a guide to protest safely.
Friends we can not be quiet much longer, and we need to do it safely. If you learn of any demonstrations or protests, please do share with all of us and we can go together.
Justice comes in many forms- while we continue to express our dissent through demonstrations, we can also support those who are directly affected by these or any other injustices.
To that end- we continue to collect school supplies which we will distribute to any and all desiring kids in September, Please bring your donations on Sundays or any day during the week when the office is open. You can always leave them at the parsonage door also.
Beloveds, our world needs us, and we need to remember our baptismal vows and resist all evil and injustice. May we continue to strive to do our best, be our best and do all we can to leave a livable world for the generations to come, and a safer place for our generations.
And remember God loves you and so do I, and I look forward to seeing you in worship.
